Most of the volume of our facial skin is provided by fat cells in the sub-cutaneous layer. The presence of fat cells contributes to that healthy, plump look most evident in children and young adults. As we age our skin gets progressively thinner with a consequent reduction in fat cells. With similar decreases in collagen levels as we age, the skin loses volume and structure leading to a drawn, sagging complexion.

The active component in Volufiline stimulates the fat bearing cells in the third tier of our skin (the sub-cutaneous layer) encouraging them to proliferate (increase in volume by absorbing more lipids) and differentiate (increase in quantity). Over time, the increase in numbers and size of these fat bearing cells will plump the complexion.
