Description
Lactic Acid Chemical Peel
Lactic Acid is a member of the Alpha Hydroxy Acid group of chemicals* and is a close relative of Glycolic Acid, Mandelic Acid, Malic Acid and others.
Lactic acid peel vs glycolic acid peel
Lactic acid produces very similar results as Glycolic Acid when applied to the skin in a properly formulated peel solution but as it is milder than Glycolic Acid it is less likely to provoke inflammation and may be less drying than glycolic acid as it is is one of the natural moisturising factors (NMF) in our skin.
A lactic peel is safe to use at home when formulated correctly. The strength of the peel is determined by the concentration of lactic acid and the pH (the measurement of acidity) of the peel.
